Uncle Milton Star Wars Science [Toy Fair 2011]

Written on Feb 19, 2011 by Brian and filed under Uncle Milton

Uncle Milton is a long time Star Wars licensee, creating products with an interesting mix of science and classic Star Wars flair. This year they’re launching two fun kids tech products based on Star Wars Lightsabers.

The first is the Mini Lightsaber Dark Side Detector which determines whether or not you’re Sith or Jedi. Building on the build your own Lightsaber theme from last year, kids start out by assembling the Lightsaber, based off Darth Vadar’s infamous design. Depending on your energy, the Lightsaber will either light up blue for Jedi or red for Sith. The best advice I have for parents is to buy this and use it with kids as young as possible, while there’s still time to keep them from the dark side.

The Mini Lightsaber Dark Side Detector has an MSRP of $14.99.

Uncle Milton crosses their classic room light collection with Lightsabers for the second Star Wars product, the Lightsaber Room Light collection. Kids construct their Lightsaber, then mount it to the wall for a terrific lighting effect. The Lightsabers have authentic sound effects and work with a remote control to turn them on or off. They’re battery powered too, giving kids a lot of flexibility when choosing the best place to display their creation.

Three versions of the Lightsaber Room Lights will be available; Luke Skywalker (green), Obi Wan Kenobi (blue) and Darth Vadar (red), for an MSRP of $29.99.
