Razor eSpark Scooter, Graffiti Scooter and BoGo [Toy Fair 2011]

Written on Feb 15, 2011 by Brian and filed under Razor

With spring around the corner here in the Midwest, not much sounds better than the idea of getting kids playing outside. And if the kids are outside, there’s a pretty good chance they’re going to be riding on one of the 20 million Razor scooters sold thus far. Razor has a line of new products at Toy Fair for 2011 highlighted by the eSpark electric-powered scooter which throws sparks off the back of the scooter when kids step on the back Spark Bar.

Razor’s electric scooter is already popular, hitting speeds up to 10 MPH for up to 40 minutes per charge. It’s even more fun now for kids thanks to what Razor calls the Spark bar. While riding the scooter, kids can press down on the bar to leave a trail of sparks behind. We watched the unit get demo’d repeatedly on the show floor and the effect is pretty fun – probably even more so at dusk when the sparks would really pop.

The Razor eSpark comes with two Spark Cartridges included, replaceable cartridges will be available but pricing was not announced. eSpark is designed for riders 8 and up, with a suggested maximum of 120 pounds. eSpark will be available this spring for an MSRP of $179.99.

Razor also announced a few other products including the Razor Graffiti scooter. The Graffiti is a play off the original Razor, adding a bracket in the back that holds three pieces of street chalk. When kids ride, they can press on the chalk with a foot, leaving a trail of creativity behind. Graffiti is due out in the spring for $59.99.

The other big announcement is the BoGo pogo stick. Razor has totally redesigned the classic spring-loaded toy. The old-school pogo stick gets a boost of technology by way of built-in bow to deliver and extra pop on the way back up. The Razor BoGo is designed to make the pogo action fun, even for lighter kids who often have a hard time actuating the heavier spring-based pogo sticks. BoGo is designed for ages 6 and up (maximum rider weight of 140 pounds) and will be available this spring for $89.99.
