Fisher-Price Announces New Pre-K iPod Games

Fisher-Price™ has announced three new iPhone apps, the first of their kind, geared toward, yes, you guessed it, preschoolers.
Let’s face it, cell phones are the new car keys, and many parents allow their 2-5 year olds to play with their phones while waiting at the doctor’s office or while grocery shopping. Knowing this, Fisher-Price™ has reinvented some of it’s most popular and time-tested toys in iPhone app format for kids (and parents) of the new millennium.
Chatter Telephone sells for $0.99 and boasts three screen options:
- Numbers — touch a number and the phone will say the name of the number pressed
- Music — touch one of three instruments and hear it play
- People in Your Neighborhood — touch the picture of any of the nine people pictured to have them “call” you and tell you about themselves and to hear sounds from their jobs
As for the See ‘n Say, you can spin the virtual dial or just move it to point to one of the animal pictures. Based on where the arrow is pointing, the app makes the corresponding animal sound and then shows a short video which shares fun facts about the animal. There are 12 animals in all with 48 videos. Not bad for just $1.99!
The Little People™ Farm app is a discovery game with 25 touch-activated spots, mini games and music. Touching different parts of the screen will make Eddie™ and Maggie™ dance, a pig jump in the mud, or Farmer Jed™ drive down the road.
