Disney Flix and Pix Twist Cameras Announced for Tweens

Disney will have two new digital imaging products available this fall for tweens. The Flix digital video camera comes with blue screen backdrop to let kids put themselves in fun scenes. The Pix Twist digital camera uses a rotation mechanism so kids can take great self-portraits and group shots.
Disney Flix
The Flix is what Disney is calling a “scene video camera.” What that essentially means is that kids can shoot video of themselves against an included blue screen, essentially inserting themselves against already recorded backgrounds. The package also comes with a tripod, editing software and a cable to watch the recordings on a TV.
The cameras use an easy single button press to record up to 30 minutes of video at 30 frames per second. Kids can frame their shots or watch the recorded video on a reasonably sized 2″ LCD screen.
The Disney Flix (may be renamed) is due out this fall for $59.99.
Disney Pix Twist
The Pix Twist works like any standard digital camera, but with a twist. The camera can rotate so kids can take excellent self-portraits, or group shots, without having to leave anyone out. The camera shoots 5 megapixel photos and has 16MB of internal storage. No mention is made of external storage, though we assume it also comes with an SD card reader. Pix Twist also comes with desktop software that lets kids add fun borders around their pictures, along with Disney character customizations.
The Disney Pix Twist will be available this fall for $59.99.
