Learning Resources announced several new games and learning toys at Toy Fair this year. We saw them in action and came away pretty impressed. The focus is on learning and the toys accomplish that goal while being fun for both kids and families. Games like Funny Phone Early Listening Game and Number Knockout Electronic Math Game are just a few examples of electronic games that engage and entertain children while they learn.
Funny Phone Early Listening Game
Calling all jokesters! The Funny Phone Early Listening Game gets players of all ages giggling. Dial a number and listen as Funny Phone tells you what the next game is. With over 300 challenges—tongue twisters, singing, drawing, acting and more—Funny Phone is full of surprises and you’ll never play the same game twice. Once you’ve won, you can dial a secret phone number to hear a victory message! Features automatic shut-off, adjustable volume and break-away safety cord. Ages 4 and up. SRP: $34.99.
Over & Under the Sea Mat
Shapes ahoy! Splash into undersea adventures with the Over & Under the Sea Mat and its friendly creatures that engage kids in early learning games. Includes a treasure hunt and plays eight children’s songs, or press the notes to create original tunes. Keep the kids active with floor play, or play on a table. Ages 3 and up. SRP: $39.99
Jitterz Fast-Paced Trivia Game
Speed, smarts and reflexes get a workout in the Jitterz Fast-Paced Trivia Game that sets players on edge. Instead of buzzing in, players keep their hands on pads as Jitterz reads a question, then multiple choice answers. First one to pull their hand up after the correct answer has been read, wins! Players are tempted to second-guess themselves—but don’t flinch! Over 250 general questions about science and world geography, simple classification and logic questions challenge children to expand their knowledge base. Includes Activity Guide, adjustable volume and automatic shut-off. For 2–4 players. Ages 7 and up. SRP: $39.99
Got It! Reading & Math Game
Gobble up answers before the hungry monster—or your opponent! Got It Reading & Math Game is a two-sided electronic game with two arcade-style joysticks. Word and math questions appear on the screen and players move their cursors to “grab” the correct answers before they are eaten up by your opponent or the friendly monster (also offers solo play). Features bonus rounds, volume control, automatic shut-off and 2 headphone jacks that allow quiet play. Includes Activity Guide. Ages 5–8. SRP: $47.99
Number Knockout Electronic Math Game
Slug your way to the heavyweight math title in the Number Knockout Electronic Math Game! An electronic dice roll gives you a target number, and kids (or parents!) race to add or subtract the light-up numbers 1-9 at their station. Once you’ve used all your numbers, you’ve scored a knockout! You can also train for matches in solo mode. The announcer’s voice, starting bell and roaring crowd send fighters into the ring ready to rumble. Features volume control and automatic shut-off. Includes Activity Guide. Ages 7 and up. SRP $42.99
