Nerf Lazer Tag 2-in-1 System Announced

Written on Feb 19, 2009 by Brian and filed under Hasbro, Nerf, News

One of our favorite toys at this year’s Toy Fair is the new Nerf Lazer Tag system. This pick up and play game comes with two lazer tag guns or “taggers” that have sensors on the top, so no need for chest plates and other wearable parts. Because the system is so simple and doesn’t require extra gear, both kids and parents can get involved. The taggers even offer fun features like rumble feedback to let you know when you’ve been hit.

The Nerf Lazer Tag 2-in-1 system comes with two Phoenix LTX taggers in the box that can be used in team play or head-to-head. The tagger units have a few switches that puts them in the game modes and decides which team they’re on. Each tagger unit can be set to team 1 or team 2, so it should be easy to combine many sets of Nerf Lazer Tag for larger group play.

The tagger units feature appropriate lights and sounds, along with the rumble action that tells players when they’ve been tagged. The same rumble is also felt when firing; kids will get the recoil effect. It’s not all blast and run either, the taggers have a 10-shot “clip” that has to be reloaded. The taggers also feature a temporary shield option and a Smart Rail System allowing players to modify their tagger with new accessories and weapons to fit their mission. The system is a bit of a battery hog though, so get those rechargeables stocked up. You’ll need six AA batteries per tagger.

The Nerf Lazer Tag 2-in-1 System is designed for kids 8 and up and will be available this Fall for $49.99/set.
