Fisher-Price is capitalizing on the success of the Smart Cycle but not only upgrading that unit to Smart Cycle Extreme, but by adding two more products to their active play line, the 3-in-1 Smart Sports and Smart Fit Park packages. All three will hit retail this June and connect straight to your TV with plug and play simplicity.
Smart Fit Park
Smart Fit Park is a plug & play learning mat targeted to kids age 3-6. Like the entire suite of products, the goal is to get kids active while they learn. The setup is simple, add 4 AA batteries and connect a set of cords to any television. Kids can walk, run, jump and stomp while they play up to 18 different learning encounters, games and races. The pre-production pas we saw in action was even quite responsive to speed, so the faster kids run on the mat, the faster they’ll run on the TV. This also includes lateral movement, as they run to the right for instance, the character will move in that direction. Smart Fit Park teaches letters, numbers, shapes, colors and more. Children can also customize their on-screen characters and interact with their learning friend.
Available in June at a suggested retail of $39.99
3-in-1 Smart Sports
3-in-1 Smart Sports is a plug and play TV game designed for kids 3+ and gives them access to a fun world of interactive sports. It includes a wand-style game controller and 3 attachments – a baseball bat, tennis racket and golf club. When an attachment is added that game is immediately launched. And if you’re worried about a 3 year-old running around with a baseball bat, rest assured knowing that the attachments are mostly foam. There are 3 games for each sport, for a total of 9 learning games that teach numbers, letters, colors, shapes, matching, math and more. 3-in-1 Smart Sports Requires 2 AA batteries for controller and 4 AA batteries for base unit, not included.
Available in June at a suggested retail of $64.99
Smart Cycle Extreme
Smart Cycle Extreme build on the success of the first Smart Cycle by adding new styling and “rumble-action.” The new game cartridges feature elements of the games where kids will get rumble feedback when riding over a bumpy road for instance. Smart Cycle Extreme comes with one software title – Learning Adventure Extreme – with three ways to play and learn: Driving, Learning Arcade Games and The Big Race. Drive on a whole new road with construction zones, oil slicks and gravel paths – hit an obstacle and feel the rumble in the handle bars. There will be 6 other titles available at launch that support rumble action – Pixar Cars, Toy Story, Hot Wheels, Sponge Bob, Bob the Builder and Planet Heroes. Prior Smart Cycle software will work with Smart Cycle Extreme, they just won’t offer the rumble feedback. Smart Cycle Extreme requires 4 D batteries, not included.
Available in June at a suggested retail of $99.99. Software titles will have a suggested retail of $24.99.
