We have had no problems and it set up quick and easy BUT I have a newer operating system. I have heard of people having issues with older computers which might be the problem you are having. Also, I am not sure but it appears to me that it might not work well if you have dial up. Aso for the storage problem with a 5 year old..less is more. Any more books on the system and we would never get through one. We load a new one every month to swtich them out and that brings new life to the tag. My daughter loves it. It works like a breeze. Installation was perfect and everything works fine. This is an awesome little system - and to be able to have multiple books ready on the pen/wand at a time is amazing! I brought 1 home after testing out the demo unit and discovered that new audio books cannot be loaded into the tag reader even though I had followed exactly the instruction provided by the product. Thus I brought it back to the warranty provider for repair and had not since see my tag reader after they claim that they will return upon a week of investigation. They are still currently trying to get to the bottom of the technical problem at my expense. Don't get conned, this is the first time that I had buy anything from Leap Frog and the last time due to this bad experience. Don’t get cheated by the demo unit.
